Goals

Goal 1:  Maintain Excellent Communication

Between Council and Parents
  • Promote awareness and participation. 
  • Inform parents of current school activities, events and issues through the continuation of the monthly newsletter, Tiger Times. 
  • Promote the Council website. 
  • Promote our activities using community media resources. 

Between Council and School Administration/Teachers
  • Provide input at Principal - Council information and planning meetings.   
  • Continue to support resources to assist special needs students. 
  • Solicit regular feedback regarding Council activities/priorities from teachers and administration. 
  • Plan and promote school initiatives through the use of volunteers. 

Between Council and UCDS Board
  • Attend meetings as required and provide feedback to parents through Council updates. 
  • Support and participate in the planning processes whenever possible. 
  • Advocate for specific school issues and for the rights for South Branch students and parents. 

Goal 2: Support Educational Enrichment

Through the Support of Supplemental Learning Resources
  • Provide financial support for the development of the library and it’s resources as identified   by administration and library staff. 
  • Provide financial support for the purchase of classroom based learning resources. 
  • Provide financial support for South Branch book rooms. 
  • Provide ongoing financial support for the purchase of computer equipment 

Through Student Enrichment Programming
  • Support the monthly Literacy Initiative, book swap program. 
  • Provide financial support for music and art programs as requested. 
  • Provide financial support for bussing costs for field trips, sporting events etc. 
  • By organizing fundraising activities that support the goals of Council and South Branch 
  • Identify fundraising activities/priorities for this school year in collaboration with administration and teachers.
